Tears as dementia patients sing Liverpool FC anthem You'll Never Walk Alone

This is the heartwarming moment a dementia support group breaks into a rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone .

The lovely footage was captured at a fortnightly session hosted at Mossley Hill Athletics Club .

Run by community interest company Tender Loving Care, the event uses music to bring those with dementia together.

And yesterday it had just that impact when John, who regularly attends the events, picked up the microphone ahead of Liverpool FC's Champions League final tie with Tottenham Hotspur.

TLC director Aimee Carson described what happened next as "magnificent".

She told the ECHO : "John always gets up and asks to have a sing song. He decided to sing You'll Never Walk Alone because of the match on Saturday and it was amazing.

"The atmosphere was incredible and people remembered the words... it was heartwarming. It was very, very emotional and there were lots of tears - happy tears."
