Tearful Rebekah Vardy discusses Coleen Rooney scandal on Loose Women

It was one of last year's most talked-about dramas on social media and now the so-called Wagatha Christie case is back in the spotlight, as Rebekah Vardy herself tearfully described how it has affected her life.

The wife of Leicester City striker Jamie was overcome on ITV's Loose Women on Thursday morning as she talked about the fall-out of the infamous spat with Coleen Rooney.

Following Coleen's Instagram post blaming her for feeding stories about her to the press - which she denied - the former I'm A Celebrity contestant was talking about the incident for the first time on the show.

And, answering questions from the panel, she told them: "It was really, really hard - it's probably up there with one of the worst things I've ever had to deal with."

She revealed that when the story broke she had been with husband Jamie on holiday in Dubai, prior to her daughter's birth, and she became increasingly emotional as she told of abuse she had since endured from online trolls.

One of the messages she received said: "I genuinely hope you and your baby rot."

The 37-year-old said that the trolls were the worst part of the experience which led to her being hospitalised three times during her pregnancy, reported The Mirror.

She is now in a legal dispute with Coleen, the author wife of record-holding England goal scorer Wayne Rooney, so could not comment more fully.
