Tearful Coleen Nolan grabs tissues after emotional video message from Shane Jr.

Coleen Nolan burst into tears on today's Loose Women after receiving an emotional message from her son.

The panellist opened up about her childhood and career with The Nolans in a special ‘Life Before Loose’ segment.

Coleen discussed singing from the age of just two-years-old, needing army escorts in Japan and growing up in a big family.

The segment ended with Shane Roche Jr. sending his mum a special message, which left her in tears reaching for the tissues.

In the recording, he said: "Hi mum, it's your oldest best looking child here, Shane.

"I just want to say how great I think you are as a mother and how Loose Women has made you a better mum as you get help off the other ladies.

"I can't think of a better friend or mum who has been there and done everything for us. I think you're amazing."

Coleen, who had expected her son to be rude, immediately started welling up.

Luckily her Loose colleagues, Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter and Brenda Edwards, were on hand to pass over the tissues.

Coleen also discussed some of her parts relationship, but failed to mention Shane Jr.'s dad - EastEnders star Shane Richie.

She admitted: “All my relationships were to do with the musicians, my very first love. They were the only people I was ever with, really.”

And of her own children being musical she said: “It is quite strange... I’ve never pushed them to do it. They’ve just grown up with a singing family and they can just sing. I don’t know how that happens. Must be genetic.”

Coleen, who was just two-years-old when she started singing in working mens' clubs, spoke about her singing career.

Speaking of singing with The Nolans, she said: "I was 15 when I joined them full-time. Just before that, from about 13 to 15 I was in a real quandary where I thought, 'I don’t know if I want to'.

"Because I’d been singing since I was 2, I was craving this normality of getting a proper job and being at home with my friends.

"[My dad] was the one that came up and said: ‘Listen, if you don’t want to do this, absolutely don’t do this’. I’d always said I wanted to be a vet, looked into the qualifications and realised I didn’t have a hope in hell."

She also opened on on her childhood and living in a house with eight kids.

She said: “I loved the chaos and the noise. I’ve got nothing but, the majority of times, lovely memories.

“This is going to shock you all, I was very quiet as a child. And that’s why I talk so much now.”

Coleen joked: “I just learnt to sit back and watch.”

*Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm
