Teammates ‘kinda shocked’ by Kyle Fuller’s outburst after roughness flag

Mild-mannered cornerback Kyle Fuller was apoplectic when he flagged for unnecessary roughness after he hit a sliding Jeff Driskel on the Lions’ second drive. He screamed at officials until teammates had to help usher him away.

“I’ve never seen him like that,” safety Eddie Jackson said. “I was kinda shocked.”

Jackson said he told Driskel himself that “you gotta slide a little earlier.”

Fuller’s bad day continued into the fourth quarter, when he slipped on a 47-yard touchdown heave to Kenny Golladay.

“Kyle’s one of the strongest dudes on our team, mentally,” cornerback Prince Amukamara said. ‘He can’t be shaken. His mood can’t be altered. He’s very even-keeled when makes a play, or when he misses a play.

“He’s still kicking himself in the butt because he tripped, but next week, Kyle’s probably gonna get a pick. That’s how he always bounces back.”
