A team on The Chase lost thousands after Bradley Walsh seemingly gave the wrong answer to a question.

Contestants Stan, Jo, Azhar and Angie were battling against Chaser Shaun Wallace when the host seemingly made the error, which contributed to them going home empty handed.

Playing for £20,000, the team were devastated when The Dark Destroyer chased down their total to nothing, and viewers were left wondering whether Bradley’s 'blunder' was a reason for their massive loss.

The question, which appeared on Monday's episode, related to American 60s pop band The Monkees, specifically about the amount of members there were.

The team answered four - Davy Jones on the guitars, Micky Dolenz on the drums, and Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork on piano.

But Bradley insisted they were wrong and that the answer was three.

Fans of the ITV show were left baffled when the host said that they’d got the question wrong - and flocked to social media to vent their rage.

Over on Twitter, one viewer said: "#thechase Bradley asked how many members were there in the Monkees they answered four and Bradley said wrong three, but it was four!!"

Another said: "Had to rewind there - how many Americans were there in the quartet The Monkees = three #TheChase"

While a third added: “@ITVChase Weren't there four in the Monkees as the team replied and was discounted #thechase.”

The Chase airs all week at 5pm on ITV.
