PATTAYA: Ten to 15 knots of wind all day made yesterday the best of the Top of the Gulf Regatta so far. With 13 classes competing off Ocean Marina Yacht Club it was a riot of colour and high octane competition.

Noppakao Poonpat, at the helm of THA72 and having won the IRC Racing One last year, is in a new territory this time, chasing leader Team Hollywood.

Team Hollywood have an edge over THA72, which despite leading for part of yesterday's first race, had to settle for two second places and behind the former by six points.

In IRC Racing Two, Fujin won yesterday's race to close the gap at the top. However, a second place for Tenacious was enough to keep them at the top of the standings with a slim one point lead and two more days to go.

The para sailing fleet finished four fast and furious races yesterday and the honours were shared around.

A first place and three second places for Paisol Pateh and Mahseedi Hadumor saw them stay top.

Thai duo of Kasempon Hondee and Suraphong Chitkong finished the day on a high note with a first place in the last race to retain their second overall while Jo Mengel and Anwarmay and Kristo Priks and Peep Krusberg were third and fourth respectively.
