Teachers, tell us about your working lives

The teaching profession is in crisis. As the student population grows exponentially, the government has failed to hit its recruitment targets for four years and record numbers of teachers are leaving the profession. This isn’t a distant problem that will hit schools in five or 10 years’ time – it’s happening right now.

This is the backdrop to the Guardian Teacher Network and Guardian Jobs’ new research project, Beyond the Timetable – the reality of teachers’ lives, sponsored by CJA. We want to find out what’s causing teachers to leave in their droves, how schools are coping with the recruitment and retention emergency, and what can be done to rectify the situation.

If you’re a UK teacher, we’re keen to hear your views. To participate in our survey, which should take 10-15 minutes, follow this link.

The research is being conducted in accordance with guidelines stipulated by the UK Market Research Society code of conduct. Your responses will remain confidential and you will receive no additional sales communications as a result of taking part.

On completion of this survey you can enter a prize draw to win an Apple iPad Air2, providing you submit your completed response by Monday 15 February 2016. Leave your contact details at the end of the survey and we will contact the lucky winner by Wednesday 9 March 2016.

Please click here if you want to view the prize draw rules, and if you have any questions about this research, please email audience.research@theguardian.com.
