Half term is underway, with the brief hope of some of relaxation in the May sunshine before the onslaught of the summer term.
In reality we know most teachers spend a good chunk of their holiday marking and planning, leaving very little time to explore the back garden let alone the great outdoors.
So, this half term we want to give you a good excuse to put down the marking pens (especially if you are stuck in the house) by encouraging you to try your hand at a spot of baking.
We’re launching our very own bake of for teachers – calling for photos and recipes of your favourite bakes. It can be anything and everything from a fresh banana loaf to sugary cupcakes. We’ll then be selecting a few master bakers and their creations to appear in a gallery on our site.
So, show us your doughy creations and we’ll publish the very best ones after the break. Email your pictures here, or tweet us @GuardianTeach. If you want to submit the recipe too, we’ll share it on our resources platform so others can have a go (please cite who owns the recipe if it’s not your own).
We hope your cakes rise to the challenge.
