Education New Zealand by the New Zealand embassy invites English teachers across the country to join a video clip contest to win a scholarship to attend an online training programme.

The contest is open to English school teachers of Thai nationality, regardless of their teaching level. They are required to submit a video clip introducing themselves in English under the topic of "What inspired you to become an English teacher and how can you become an inspirational teacher to your students?". Each clip should not be longer than 90 seconds and must be uploaded to the contestant's social media account -- Facebook, Instagram or YouTube -- and the URL link should be sent to bit.ly/3wfEv23.

Only 30 teachers will be eligible to win a scholarship worth 40,000 baht to attend the "New Zealand Global Competence Certificate and English Teacher Training Programme".

Developed by the AFS Intercultural Programmes, the five-week online programme will give English teachers the opportunity to improve their English language skills, learn about New Zealand's educational and cultural system, and gain some tips and teaching techniques from New Zealand's practical teaching and learning styles.

The 30 Thai teachers will also team up with teachers from Japan and Vietnam to learn more about skills needed in a global and intercultural environment.

The training will be taught by qualified facilitators from Massey University, New Zealand.

The submission deadline is Aug 31. Visit bit.ly/3wfEv23.
