Thousands of members of the National Union of Teachers and NASUWT are expected to take part in strikes today over pay, pensions and working conditions. Schools could be affected in parts of Yorkshire and Humberside, the Midlands and the east of England.

If you're planning to take part in the day of action – we'd like to hear from you and find out your reasons for striking. You can share photos, videos or text by clicking on the blue contribute buttons or if you're on a march you can download the free GuardianWitness smartphone app.

We'll feature the best content on the Guardian site.
