A man's head was stamped on as he lay unconscious outside a takeaway after a night out in Liverpool city centre.
Liverpool Crown Court heard yesterday, Thursday, that CCTV operatives were alerted to an incident outside Mamos Gourmet Kitchen on Bold Street shortly after 2am on November 4 2021. Graham Pickavance, prosecuting, described how victim Ryan Barndon was seen on camera lying unconscious in the street before defendant Kyle Johnson stamped on his head, walked away briefly then returned and delivered another stamp to his body.
It followed a brawl outside with a "number of people involved in it" in which he was knocked to the floor. Mr Barndon was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital, having suffered injuries including a broken nose.

Then 17-year-old Johnson, of no fixed address, was traced to another bar nearby where he was arrested. The now 19-year-old is already serving a four-and-a-half year sentence, imposed in August last year for wounding and robbery.
Jonathan Duffy, defending, asked the court to impose a sentence to be served concurrently to his client's current term and added: "For a period, he behaved appallingly and he accepts that. There is no need to add to what is already a long prison sentence for someone so young."
Johnson admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Appearing via video link to HMP Altcourse, he was jailed for six months - which will be served consecutive to his present term.
Sentencing, Recorder Jeremy Lasker said: "At the time, he was wholly defenceless and probably already unconscious. This assault cannot be overlooked and I do intend to pass a consecutive sentence."
