Teacher makes shocking Tipping Point 'Anne Frank' blunder that leaves viewers outraged

A teacher who appeared as a contestant on Tipping Point make a blunder that viewers at home could not quite believe on Thursday afternoon.

If you've never watched Tipping Point, the ITV show sees four contestants answer general knowledge questions to win counters which they use on a large coin pusher arcade-style machine.

Only the winner at the end has a chance to take home any money; the others leave with nothing except any non-cash prizes they may have won during the game.

Just like with fellow ITV quiz show The Chase, production on new episodes of Tipping Point was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic but a few weeks ago, host Ben Shephard did reveal he was taking a break from his other job as Good Morning Britain presenter as filming was set to resume.

A repeat aired yesterday and, unfortunately for one particular contestant, gave viewers a lot to talk about.

Teacher Steph was asked by Ben 'In a classic novel by Johanna Spryl, what is the name of the orphan sent to live with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps?'

She responded: "I have got an idea but don't know whether to pass or not... I think Pete (the other contestant) might know it."

Then, to the disbelief of everyone, she said Anne Frank, who, as we all know, isn't a character and was the girl who became famous the world over for her WW2 diaries.

And viewers at home did not hold back in their reactions to Steph's epic fail. One tweeted: ""Is SHE supposedly a teacher? WTF is she teaching?" and another reacted: "I just collapsed and my brain is dribbling out of my nose and mouth after the lady gave the answer as Anne Frank."

The criticism didn't stop there as a third blasted: "An answer like Anne Frank should be an automatic disqualification."
