Teacher left embarrassed after being pulled up for 'inappropriate' outfit at school

A teacher has been left embarrassed after being "dress-coded" at school over her "inappropriate" outfit. Alison Mutarelli, 21, has been left confused over what she is allowed to wear to work after the ordeal.

The student teacher took to social media to share her experience after being pulled up for her dress while working at school. In a video posted to TikTok, Alison shared her outfit to garner others opinions, reports the Mirror.

She said: "I was student teaching, and both my partner and I were wearing dresses and the principal told us to dress for the jobs that we want."

She was wearing the outfit that got her told off, which included a black shawl and a short white dress. The 21-year-old then went onto show more outfits that they planned to wear to school or had previously worn.

The teacher then tried on a floral dress but questioned whether it would be accepted because it might be considered tight fitting. She decided against wearing it, concluding: "I don't think I can wear it".

The young woman then tried on a couple of tops she has worn "multiple times," including a white shirt on with a sleeveless knitted top over. She said: "So I got this outfit thinking it was okay, but now I'm nervous because technically it's cropped but it's also covered.

"I don't know." The teacher then explained the reason behind her confusion, stating: "The school I student teach for has had a pretty chill dress code.

"I have seen other teachers wearing dresses just like I've been wearing and they are allowed to wear jeans. I thought we had a pretty chill dress code but I guess not, and I don't know what to do.

"If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I am so stressed."

People were quick to share their opinions on the teacher's dress sense and the schools policy. Many social media users were quick to blame the school and believed that her outfits were completely fine.

One person said: "Every single outfit you showed was fine." A second person commented: "Nothing wrong with any of those!"

A third added: "You need to get the district employee handbook! That way, you know exactly what your dress code is and is not."

However, many other people could see where the potential problem was with her outfits. One person said: "I'm a teacher.

"The length is fine, it's more likely the neckline and low cut/open back. I typically do t-shirt dresses."

Another added: "Work clothes can't be your regular clothes. Separate wardrobe.

"Dresses and skirts to the knee, and crew neck tops. Hang in there!"
