KALASIN: The provincial education panel has resolved to expel a music teacher on trial for the rape of an 11-year-old girl at a school in Huai Mek district after finding him guilty of gross disciplinary violations.
Atthaphol Truektrong, chief of education zone 12, said on Thursday the provincial panel upheld allegations of sexual assault brought against Chayakorn Wongkhamhan, a music teacher and classroom adviser at a Huai Mek school, and resolved unanimously to dismiss him from government service.
The finding and resolution will be forwarded to the Kalasin Primary Education Service Area Office 2, which oversees the school, Mr Atthaphol said.
Chayakorn, 46, worked at Ban Chaisri School in Huai Mek district. He was accused by parents of a girl in Prathom Suksa 5 (grade 5 at primary school) of raping her in a classroom. He was also accused of forcibly abducting the girl at gunpoint.

The parents filed a complaint with local police on June 15 last year.
Pol Maj Gen Montri Charanpong, Kalasin police chief, said the police investigation report was passed to the provincial prosecution office on July 7 last year. The case was now before the court. The suspect was allowed release on bail after acknowledging the charges.
Police investigators pressed five charges against Mr Chaiyakorn - depriving a girl under 15 years of parental care for sexual molestation, raping a girl under 13 years, using a gun to force her, illegally detaining her, and having and carrying weapons in public areas without permission.
The suspect admitted to having sexually molested the girl, but denied the other charges. The court had set May 8-9 for hearing testimony from the plaintiff’s witnesses, the provincial police chief said.
