A teacher accused of harassing the former principal of St Patrick’s High School Keady appeared before Newry Magistrates Court this morning.
Patrick Hollywood, of Upper Fathom Road in the town, is facing charges of intimidation, harassment and causing another to fear violence.
The charges against Mr Hollywood were read to the court, and asked if he understood them, the 38-year-old said “yes”.
Investigating officer Detective Coffolla said under oath she could connect the accused with the charges against him following an examination of the evidence.
Mr Hollywood’s defence submitted a request to have that evidence, including correspondence and calligraphy, independently examined as it is “fundamental to the defence”.
Prosecution said they had been “submitted with a lengthy summary of facts” in relation to the case and have requested the full file so they may proceed.
The case is back before the court on May 22, when Judge Keown said he would like confirmation it had been received along with “progress towards a decision” from the defendant.
