Teacher has people's jaws dropping with 'special filing system' for homework

When people think about the job of a teacher, they usually think about the dreamy six weeks' holiday they get each summer, in addition to all the half term breaks spread throughout the year.

But, most of us will remember the sheer volume of homework we were set at school, which teachers would then have to take home and mark in their spare time - or so we thought, anyway.

One teacher has left people gobsmacked after revealing her very own way of storing all the homework she sets for her students, and we genuinely didn't see this coming.

TikTok user @educatingthehearts, recently took to the app to share a little known secret regarding what teachers actually do with our carefully curated homework.

Most of us don't think twice about what happened to our homework (@EDUCATINGTHEHEARTS/tiktok)
But it still stings a little to find out (@EDUCATINGTHEHEARTS/tiktok)

"I know something you don't, I know something you'll never know," she mouthed in the clip, before it cut to her throwing a big old pile of homework in the bin. Yep, the bin.

On the clip, she wrote: "Teachers that get it, get it. Teachers that don't, don't."

All that hard work just chucked in the bin. It's a long time since we've been set any homework, we've got to admit, it still stings a little.

"We call that 'filing it away'," one teacher commented, while another added: "'This is going to be graded' - trashes it a week later."

A third teacher wrote: "I use to bring it home to throw it out because I had some irrational fear of the work being found in my classroom garbage and getting in trouble."

Honestly, these lies are almost up there with the whole, "the dog ate my homework," excuse.
