Teacher gives birth to first child just 48 hours after finding out she was pregnant

A woman has given birth to her first child just 48 hours after finding out she was pregnant, having initially put her symptoms down to being tired out by her new teaching job.

Peyton Stover was oblivious she was about to pop, and thought her new job was making her stressed and contributing to her feeling more fatigued than usual.

But when the 23-year-old's legs began to swell, she attended a doctor's appointment where medics informed her that she was actually expecting, according to the Mirror.

Peyton told local news outlet KETV that a doctor ran the test twice to make sure she was with child, and after the second time, revealed that it was "definitely positive". A further ultrasound also confirmed the happy news.

“She looked right at the screen and said, ‘You’re definitely pregnant," Peyton said. Doctors had to spring into action to save Peyton's life and deliver the baby, as her kidneys and liver were not functioning properly.

“They said she needs to be admitted and then she had the baby that night,” her boyfriend, Travis Koesters, said.

“They’re like you’re having a baby in 15 minutes,” Peyton added. "I had severely high blood pressure which is very scary,” she went on to say.

“If I wouldn’t have came in when I did I probably wouldn’t have made it through the weekend.” Doctors performed an emergency C-section and the baby boy, Kash, was born 10 weeks premature weighing just four pounds.

It was later revealed that Peyton had a case of pre-eclampsia, which is a pregnancy complication that leads to high blood pressure.

Peyton and Travis, who are both from Omaha, said they wanted kids one day and were thrilled the day came sooner than planned.

“Now that I’ve actually held him, fed him and things like that it’s real. He’s actually mine,” Travis said.
