Four families have filed complaints with the Pavena Foundation for Children and Women, alleging that their sons, all 12-year-old Grade 6 students, were sexually assaulted by a male teacher.
The parents and grandmothers from Udon Thani brought the boys to meet foundation president Pavena Hongsakul, reporting that the 46-year-old teacher lured one boy from a local event to his residence on school grounds on Feb 11, where he allegedly molested him.
Two classmates attempted to rescue him, but one was also assaulted. Later, two other boys said that they had also been abused previously.
Following the complaint, Ms Pavena coordinated with Education Minister, who sent officials from the Ministry's Center for Student Happiness and Safety to meet with the families. The ministry pledged to pursue serious disciplinary action against the teacher and provide psychological support for the victims.
Ms Pavena also contacted local police. The boys will undergo medical examinations, while prosecutors and social workers will oversee the process.
Ms Pavena said her foundation will monitor the case closely.
