Kalasin education authorities Wednesday ordered a probe against a male teacher who has been accused of approaching a Matthayom Suksa 6 student for sex.
A female teacher, whose identity has been withheld, made the accusations against him on her Facebook page.
She said that following her revelation on Facebook, the Secondary Educational Service Area Office (Sesao) 24, which supervises the school located in Muang municipality, set up a committee to consider disciplinary action against her, which she said was unfair.
Kalasin Provincial Education Office chief Kittipot Ponpila said Wednesday he was aware of the case and had sought an explanation from Sesao 24.
Mr Kittipot added that Sesao 24 was probing the teacher who posted the message on her Facebook page to ascertain facts about her allegations, which concern attempted sexual misconduct.
Mr Kittipot said the female teacher had also exposed in a separate post a case in which the school allegedly demanded money from the parents of some students and that issue was also being investigated by Sesao 24.
Sesao 24 Wednesday formed a panel to probe all allegations.
Mr Kittipot has ordered Sesao 24 to provide its findings to the Kalasin Provincial Education Office, insisting: "We will be fair to both sides."
The female teacher claimed her post, dated Sept 22 last year, was aimed at warning female students and their parents.
She said she had received the information from a female student, who complained that a male school teacher had asked her to have sex with him.
She was sure the student was telling the truth, as she had heard similar accusations from other students concerning the teacher.
