
Some clad in ninja costumes, officials of Koka, Shiga Prefecture, pick new leaves of Omi no Cha tea on Monday, which heralded the start of tea-plucking season there. About 400 kilograms of raw leaves will be used for the new tea of the season and sold at stores in the prefecture. Koka is also famed for being a ninja hometown.
