Tea Gardens, Singleton pubs join Newcastle and Hunter exposure sites

PUBS in Hunter electorates outside the stay-at-home orders have emerged as some of the region's latest COVID exposure sites.

Authorities have flagged a range of venues including Tea Gardens Hotel on Friday October 1 from 10:40am to 11:45am, as well as the Harrington Hotel on - Saturday September 25 from 3:25pm to 4:15pm.

Hunter New England Health said anyone who attended is considered a casual contact, meaning they must get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result.

Any close contacts will be contacted directly, the health service said.

Other exposure sites identified in the past 24 hours include at Subway in Cessnock Centre on Tuesday September 28 from 4.15pm to 8.30pm, and Singleton's Albion Hotel on both Friday October 1 from 3.35pm to 7.25pm and Saturday October 2 from 1.55pm to 3.20pm.

A second Singleton pub, the Club House Hotel, was also an exposure site on Sunday October 3 from 1.30pm to 3.35pm.

Branxton Fish and Chippery was exposed on Monday September 27 from 1.45pm to 2.20pm, as was the pokies area at Gunnedah's Railway Hotel on both Tuesday September 28 from 11am to noon and Saturday October 2 from 10.30am to 11am.

Walk-in vaccination clinics will run in Weston and East Maitland later this week in a bid to boost the region's flagging jab rates before the state starts re-opening from Monday.

Weston's Finding Yellow Hall on Station Street will host a clinic between 10am and 4pm on Friday, October 8, while East Maitland Community Health Centre on Stronach Avenue will offer vaccinations between 10am and 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Pfizer clinics are open to everyone but will prioritise those who live in social housing, are experiencing homelessness, are Indigenous or Torres Strait Islanders or who have a disability or significant health problems.
