TE Nick Vannett changes his tune about his time with the Steelers

Oh what a difference a few months can make. Former Pittsburgh Steeler and current Denver Broncos tight end Nick Vannett spoke candidly about his time with the Seattle Seahawks and the Steelers on Friday and didn’t have anything good to say about their short, forgettable stretch with the Steelers. The Steelers traded for Vannett early in the 2019 season.

In fact, Vannett invoked the old “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all” defense that most elementary school kids are taught by their grandma when asked about what life was like after he was traded to Pittsburgh.

This is in stark contrast to what Vannett said just after the NFL season ended.

It’s incredible here. You don’t know what to expect when you go someplace new. From Day 1 I felt the love, I felt welcomed. It is a true family atmosphere here. I have a lot of respect for this organization.

Vannett was a complete non-factor during his three months with Pittsburgh catching only 13 receptions for 128 yards in 13 games.
