TE Josh Oliver returns to practice on a limited basis

The Jacksonville Jaguars had several players return to the field Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans and it seemingly helped tremendously when considering they had a convincing 20-7 victory. They also got a few days of rest before returning to the practice field to prepare for the Denver Broncos, and that appears to have given the Jags enough time for a potential x-factor player to make his long-awaited return in tight end Josh Oliver.

The rookie returned to the practice field and participated in individual drills, marking his heavily anticipated return since injuring his hamstring in the early stages of training camp.

Oliver had strong showings in organized team activities, minicamp and early in training camp, which made many fans eager to see him in action. Both of the team’s top quarterbacks in Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew II praised his abilities in the summer as he provided a big-bodied target for them.

Many have stressed the importance of a pass-catching tight end threat for the Jags’ offense when considering what we witnessed from Foles when he was in Philly (where John DeFilippo was his positions coach) with Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert. Hopefully, with Oliver working towards his debut we’ll get to see him add a new element for the Jags’ offense, which already is clicking as far as the passing game goes.
