TE Jesse James glad to get away from Steelers drama

For four seasons, Detroit Lions tight end Jesse James did everything asked of him by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Often asked to be nothing more than a glorified offensive lineman, James went out snap after snap watching his teammates rack up stats and create chaos off the field while he just did his job.

Now, with a new home in Detroit James was comfortable talking about the situation in Pittsburgh and to no one’s surprise he said he was glad to get away from the drama. And you really can’t blame him for thinking it or saying it.

Hopefully, the Steelers are well on their way to getting the team back in order and making football the focus. The front office has learned a hard lesson about simply amassing talent isn’t enough when you let those massive egos control the team. We wish James all the best in Detroit and hope he is finally in a system able to utilize him more effectively than they did in Pittsburgh.
