TDs and senators were forced to leave the Dail Bar on Tuesday evening after a large rat was spotted scuttling around.
The boozer, which is located inside Leinster House, usually only serves TDs and senators.
But the establishment reportedly was forced to kick punters out after an unwelcome guest was spotted inside.
The bar remained shut as staff were unable to remove the rodent.
A Government spokesperson confirmed that the incident is ongoing.
