TDP is now a pale shadow of the one founded by NTR, says Sajjala

The YSRCP leaders have said that the present Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is nothing but a pale shadow of the party founded in the year 1982.

The TDP observed its 40th Formation Day on Tuesday.

Adviser (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the TDP founded by N.T. Rama Rao had been usurped by N. Chandrababu Naidu in 1995. “It has never been the same again,” he added.

“The TDP had come to power with the support of a media group. This media group had supported Mr. Naidu when he had overthrown N.T. Rama Rao in 1995,” Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy alleged.

“Mr. Naidu is known for backstabbing politics and managing systems, and he has been following the same strategies even today,” the YSRCP leader alleged.

It was a mystery why Mr. Naidu had not attended the Assembly sessions, he said.

The Opposition leaders had failed to use the Assembly time to discuss public issues, said Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy, and added that they had created a ruckus in the House by demanding a discussion on the same topic every day to waste time.

Welfare calendar

To avoid corruption and to pay the dues left by the TDP government, the YSRCP government had opted the DBT mode to transfer amounts under various welfare schemes to the beneficiaries’ accounts, he said.

Unlike the TDP government that had failed to deliver the welfare schemes on time, the YSRCP government announced a welfare calendar and implementing the same without fail, besides creating employment in various sectors, he claimed.

Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Venkateswara Rao (Nani) criticised Mr. Naidu for observing the TDP Foundation Day without repenting for “backstabbing NTR.”

“Mr. Naidu is conspiring to deceive the people again by chanting the name of NTR with the support of media houses. People do not trust Mr. Naidu anymore and are ready to defeat him in the elections,” the Minister said.
