Fans of the Boston Celtics and Bruins had better get used to bringing a copy of their coronavirus vaccination proof or a negative test to gain access to TD Garden to watch games.
TD Garden representatives announced the shift in policy on Wednesday, which will take effect on Sep. 30 for all patrons age 12 or older. No news yet on how recent of a COVID-19 test it needs to be, but over-the-counter tests will not be accepted — only molecular PCR or rapid antigen tests administered by professionals. Those with proof of vaccination must be at least 14 days removed from their full vaccination shot to gain entry via that route.
All fans in the building over age two will continue to be required to wear a mask unless actively eating or drinking, and these policies will be updated as needed per the Garden’s webpage.
UPDATE: Effective September 30, TD Garden, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics will require all guests 12 years and older to present proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 OR a qualifying negative COVID-19 test to gain access to the arena.
