AUSTIN, Texas _ The TCU Horned Frogs nearly stole a game they were not in.
Jaylen Fisher's drive to the basket with time running out resulted in a layup that rolled off the rim, leaving the Horned Frogs a point short in a Big 12 game for the second time this season, 99-98 in double overtime to Texas.
A bad start, foul trouble and turnovers _ all factors in the first two losses of the season _ spelled trouble for No. 16 TCU (13-3, 1-3 Big 12).
But the Frogs rallied to force overtime, then another overtime on Vladimir Brodziansky's jumper at the buzzer for an 88-88 tie.
Kenrich Williams had 23 of his 26 points after halftime and made 7 of 10 shots from 3-point range.
His 3-pointer gave TCU an 85-81 lead with 2:09 left in the first overtime.
TCU trailed 18-5, lost Fisher to fouls barely two minutes in and committed nine turnovers in the first half.
Fisher had 13 points and six assists after halftime.
Alex Robinson, with four 3-pointers all year, made three in the first 45 minutes for TCU.
The Frogs entered Big 12 play as the second-best shooting team in the nation. They were 14th entering the game and shot 49.2 percent against Texas (11-5, 2-2) going into the second overtime.
The Frogs led for the first time at 66-65 on Williams' 3-pointer with 6:21 left. It was his fifth make on six attempts from long distance and put him at 20 points.
Williams' seventh 3-pointer put TCU ahead 85-81 with 2:09 left in overtime.
TCU rallied with five 3-pointers in the first half, closing to 30-28 on Kouat Noi's triple, but committed a turnover with a chance to tie.
The Frogs closed to 62-60 on a 3-pointer by Williams, his free throw and JD Miller's dunk.
TCU stays on the road this week with a Saturday game at Oklahoma, the top-scoring team in the league. The Frogs lost 90-89 to the Sooners in Fort Worth on Dec. 30.
