TCU fears worst with Jaylen Fisher injury

FORT WORTH, Texas _ No. 24 TCU will be without sophomore guard Jaylen Fisher on Wednesday as it plays host to Iowa State, and the team might be without him the rest of the season.

The school announced that Fisher is out indefinitely after suffering an injured right knee Tuesday during practice, but two sources said that the injury is believed to be serious enough to end his season.

The medical staff is awaiting the results of an MRI exam before making a final diagnosis.

Fisher leads TCU in assists (5.4 per game) and is third in scoring with 12.3 points per game. He had connected on 11 of 20 3-pointers in the past four games, including a career-high three Saturday at Oklahoma.

The Horned Frogs have lost 4 of 5 games to open Big 12 play, including a double-overtime loss last week at Texas in which Fisher's buzzer-beating layup try to win the game rolled off the rim.

But he rebounded against the Sooners and hit a similar shot at the end of regulation to force overtime in an eventual overtime loss.
