The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has launched two mobile applications -- Smart Biz Event and Smart Biz Organizer -- to strengthen the Mice (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) sector.

Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, TCEB president, said Mice business needs more technology platforms and innovation to increase competitiveness.
"TCEB is taking note of the digital trend and growing demands of Mice organisers and travellers. We also plan to develop our website, online sales and marketing channels this year as well as online marketing communications," Mr Chiruit said.
Sarita Chintakanond, a specialist at TCEB, said the two apps will facilitate Mice industry functions.
"Both apps were created to service Mice events such as registration details, related business event documents, and real-time updates on statistics. The apps are in both Thai and English languages," Ms Sarita said.
Smart Biz Event provides users essential electronic documents for events they are attending. Smart Biz Organizer uses QR code scanning to help organisers register and search for attendees. The second app also provides real-time reports and analytics information.
"TCEB expects the applications to have 10,000 downloads by next year," said Mr Chiruit.
The launch of these apps is in line with the government's digital economy policy and its Thailand 4.0 scheme. TCEB's master plan for 2017-21 aims to strengthen the growth of the Mice industry through innovative strategies, he said.
Earlier, TCEB created a mobile app called Biz Thailand to serve the rising use of smartphones. The app works in Thai and English, featuring tourist attractions, restaurants, accommodation, domestic and international flights, and data on Mice venues in Bangkok and major Thai cities.
Users can receive real-time updates on news and promotional activities by the location-based service.
