Tayto Park unveils new name as part of major rebranding

Tayto Park is set to be renamed Emerald Park as part of a massive rebranding.

The new name was unveiled by general manager of Ireland's only theme park and zoo, Charles Coyle, today. The name change for the Ashbourne venue will come into effect from January 1, 2023.

The "emerald" in the new name is a reference to Ireland being called the "Emerald Isle" and it's also a nod to Meath's green countryside where the park resides.

Mr Coyle said: "When we announced that the name of the park would change, we were inundated with ideas from the public and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm. We commissioned a piece of research and Emerald Park was the clear favourite.

"We will start next year with a new name and new brand throughout the park.” Work is now under way to rebrand all elements of the park before the new year.

Earlier this year, Tayto announced the end of the sponsorship deal with Tayto Park after 12 years. The park will open two new steel rollercoasters with a budget of €30 million next year.

Marketing manager Niamh Raynolds said the company made "the strategic decision to not look for a brand title sponsor but rather create a new brand".
