Taylor Swift thanks fiancé Travis Kelce on stage as couple make first awards show appearance together

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce made their first joint appearance at an awards ceremony on Thursday night, attending the iHeartRadio Music Awards together.

Although the couple skipped the red carpet, they were seen seated side by side inside the venue, sharing affectionate moments and posing for photographs.

The awards celebrate the year’s most-streamed artists and songs across the iHeartRadio network, with winners determined by chart performance and, in some categories, fan votes. Swift led this year’s nominations with nine in total.

She went on to collect seven awards, including Pop Album of the Year for her 2025 release The Life of a Showgirl, as well as the evening’s top honour, Artist of the Year.

Accepting the award for her album, Swift publicly thanked Kelce, describing the influence of their relationship on the record.

"I think that this album feels very happy and confident and free because that's the way that I get to feel every single day of my life, because of my fiancé who's here tonight,” she said, as the camera cut to Kelce in the audience.

He smiled and appeared to mouth “I love you” in response.

Later in the ceremony, Olympic figure skater Alysa Liu presented Swift with the Artist of the Year award, prompting a reflective speech from the singer about her career and creative journey.

Reflecting on the pressures of modern visibility, she added: “We live in this world where there’s so much immediate feedback constantly. You get feedback for everything you share with the world now.

“Everything you post, you get feedback, whether it’s good or bad or whatever. I just want to say, if I had one hope for you, I would say that I hope that you get to nurture your hobby and your passion just between you and that craft. And you give yourself time. Give yourself time to make mistakes. Give yourself some time to hone your craft.”

“I’m a firm believer that anything you feed your mind, it will internalise. Anything you feed the internet, it will attempt to kill. And I don’t want that for your dreams.

“So thank you for allowing me to turn my hobby into a love, into a passion, into a dream, into a career. Thank you for allowing me to have it this long. And I wish you the best with everything you do. Thank you so much for this amazing, amazing night.”

Swift has largely stepped back from the spotlight in recent months following the release of the album last October.

She is set to mark the 20th anniversary of her debut album Taylor Swift later this year.
