Joe Alwyn says he should not have to talk about his relationship with Taylor Swift just because he is famous. The 27-year-old actor said he had been described as “strangely private” because he is reluctant to speak about his private life.
Alwyn, from north London, is said to have been dating Swift, 29, for two years after they met at a Kings of Leon gig in October 2016. When asked if he has to fight for his privacy, he told Mr Porter: “I don’t think more than anyone else.
“I don’t think anyone you meet on the streets would just spill their guts out to you, and therefore why should I?
“And then that is defined as being ‘strangely private’. Fine. But I don’t think it is. I think it’s normal.”
Alwyn’s breakout role was straight out of drama school, when director Ang Lee cast him in 2015’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. He is in current historical movies Mary Queen Of Scots and The Favourite.
