Taylor Swift’s 1989 Vault game : How to solve Google puzzles to reveal hidden track titles

Taylor Swift recently partnered with Google to create an Easter egg hunt that unveils the names of new tracks for her upcoming 1989 Taylor’s Verison album.

While Swift’s fifth studio album was first released in 2014, the award-winning singer is working on the launch of a 1989 re-recording that will feature some previously unheard tracks.

Ahead of the new album drop, the 33-year-old singer joined forces with Google Vault to create 89 puzzles that will reveal the names of her new songs.

Since its launch, Swifties have been working hard to try and crack the 89 puzzles. If you want to get involved, here’s everything you need to know.

How to play

To start the game, all you need to do is search Taylor Swift in the Google search bar. Once you’ve done this, a blue vault will pop up at the bottom righthand of your page.

A bunch of jumbled letters will then appear once you’ve clicked on the vault. Once fans have deciphered the word, they submit it into the Google search bar and move on to the next puzzle.

Fans must collectively crack 33 million puzzles in order to find out the names of the tunes coming out on her album.

How do I submit answers for Taylor Swift’s Vault puzzle?

It’s not necessarily clear how to submit answers when you first open Swift’s vault.

However, once you’ve cracked the code, all you need to do is write your answer into the Google Search bar and press submit. This should regenerate another puzzle for you to start.

How many need to be solved?

Altogether 33 million puzzles must be completed by fans for the new songs to be unveiled. At the time of writing, 29 million puzzles had been finished already and the counter continued to tick up.

What do we know so far?

Evidently, Taylor’s army of fans are already hard at work on cracking all of the puzzles and unlocking the titles for her new album.

Thousands have taken to social media to share their insights on the puzzles, as well as unveiling tips on how to crack the more difficult word games. A constantly updating thread is sharing people’s hacks when it comes to deciphering certain codes.

It’s also been reported that Google has faced some glitches as a result of the influx of people taking part in the online game. Fans have taken to social media to express their frustration at being unable to complete any more puzzles.

One Swiftie wrote: “Welp, I managed to solve a whopping 5 vault puzzles before it stopped letting me submit answers and then stopped showing up entirely so when y’all hit 33 million. Just remember that you’d only have 32,999,995 without my contribution.”

Another added: “I’m upset because it’s not actually working because so many of us can’t even play.”
