Taylor Swift performs surprise 'Delicate' cover with Hayley Kiyoko at charity event for LGBT+ youth

Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at an LGBT+ charity event, performing a cover of her song "Delicate".

The singer turned up at the end of Hayley Kiyoko's set, Variety reports, where she'd performed semi-acoustic versions of three songs from her debut album Expectations.

Kiyoko introduced her with: "So I’m gonna bring out a friend, she’s really talented, she just got off tour, she just signed with Universal, and she’s really nervous."

“It’s so great to be at this incredible show,” Swift said. “Hayley is killing it. Her family’s in the audience, so Haley’s killing it, RIGHT?” The pair then duetted on the track from Swift's album Reputation

The event was held for The Ally Coalition, founded by Bleachers frontman and producer Jack Antonoff and his sister Rachel. The non-profit organisation aims to “end discrimination against LGBTQ people by highlighting systemic inequality and LGBTQ-serving organizations and creating opportunities for fans and entertainers to advocate for equality.” This year's event raised $200,000.

The evening saw semi-acoustic sets of three or four songs by a variety of artists, interspersed with comedians. Lana Del Rey debuted four new songs, but said they were made “just for fun” and weren't likely to appear on her upcoming album.

Other performances included Regina Spektor, Mitski, and Rostam and Fun’s Andrew Dost.
