Taylor Swift broke down in tears over a banana after having eye laser surgery, a new video has revealed.
The popstar, 29, was filmed by her mother Andrea getting upset over the fruit after the procedure earlier this year.
While appearing on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, the presenter, 45, asked her how her surgery went before revealing the clip.
In the footage, her mother can be heard saying: “She found a snack,” while Swift is filmed ripping a banana off a bunch.
“That’s not the one I wanted,” she groans, before her mother says: “Stop you can’t cry. That’s not supposed to be what you’re doing.”
Swift then adds: “I tried to get this one but what do we do with this one now? It doesn’t have a head,” as Andrea soothes her.
The Lover singer is then seen laying in bed chewing a banana and Andrea says: “You can’t fall asleep eating a banana ok?”
Swift responds: “I’m not asleep, my mind is alive.”
Reacting to the video, Swift said: “Oh my god. That’s on television. She was kind enough to drive me there but cruel enough to film it and give it to you [Fallon]?”
Fallon said: “Tell your mum I say thanks again for that, she’s the best,” to which Swift responded: “You know what? I’m gonna tell her something."
The video comes after Swift was filmed dancing in a bar in New York to celebrate her 10 nominations at the VMAs.
At a party, filled with the stars from her video for single You Need to Calm Down, the singer can be seen dancing dramatically, which led to the phrase “#DrunkTaylor” trending on Twitter and the video being turned into memes.
In the interview with Fallon, Swift later revealed she had drunk “two and a half mojitos” and said she goes from “0 to legitimately thinking [she’s] a wizard within two drinks”.
