Taylor Swift fans 'in tears' as Eras Tour emails sent out - while UK fans face even longer wait for news

Taylor Swift fans hoping to get their hands on tickets for the Eras Tour when it finally heads to the UK next year are facing an agonising wait.

The global superstar made a long-awaited announcement last month confirming that she would be performing her epic three-hour-long set at four different venues in the UK next June and August. Today, the star revealed that an additional three UK dates had been added to the run - and that Paramore would be joining her as the support act.

The Shake It Off hitmaker is heading to London, Liverpool, Cardiff and Edinburgh on her European leg of the tour, which celebrates every single one of her 10 studio albums to date, including her latest release Midnights.

But fans who want to catch the global popstar are in for a nail-biting time as the tickets will only be available to those lucky enough to get access to the sale. When Taylor announced her European shows last month, fans were told they had until June 22 to register to be in with a chance of getting access to the sale.

Not everyone who registered will be able to buy tickets, however, with some people being placed on a waiting list. Those who are granted access to the sale are not guaranteed to get the high-demand tickets and will still have to battle it out in the general sale making the whole process a stressful feat for Swifties.

Initially, Taylor fans who registered for the UK ticket sales were told to expect an email today, July 5, confirming if their registration had been successful or not. But with today's announcement on new shows, a further update has been issued by tour promotor AEG telling fans they will now get their confirmation emails by July 14.

It means UK fans are in for a longer wait for news than they were expecting with many already 'stressed out' and anxious about their chances.

While UK fans are stuck waiting for now, hopeful concert-goers over in Europe have already started receiving their confirmation emails - including for Dublin, Amsterdam and Vienna.

Irish Swifties are devastated after being placed on the waiting list, with some saying they've been left in tears. Fans took to Twitter to share the disappointing news after getting an email telling them: "You're on the waitlist... but hang tight."

The email went on to explain: "Right now you are on the waitlist for your selected venue. There may not be enough tickets for everyone who registered, so a limited number of registered fans received access to the sale and others were placed on the waitlist. If any further tickets become available, we may message you to join the sale."

Disappointed fan @courtneyfitz100 said: "Been going to see Taylor Swift since I was 12 years old and got waitlisted for Dublin." @lttb357 wrote: "literally crying ... i got waitlisted on multiple accounts for taylor swift ... i can not handle this rn"

@eddiefitzs commented: "Waitlisted for all Dublin shows having registered with 5 emails seems a bit crazy to me - thank goddess for pre sale", while @gracenicinneide said: "Waitlisted for Taylor Swift [four crying emojis] crying my lil green eyes out".

"Trying to get Taylor Swift tickets is like applying to university … currently been waitlisted by three places," @elsieortong fumed.

Explaining the rules around buying tickets, AEG told fans in an email sent out today: "A limited number of registrants will have the opportunity to access the ticket sale and everyone else will be placed on the waitlist. Due to the demand for these shows, and to ensure the maximum number of fans have the opportunity to access tickets, registrants will be randomly selected for the opportunity to access the ticket sale.

"For UK dates, ticket inventory will be split evenly between the official ticket agents Ticketmaster and AXS. If you are selected, you will be randomly assigned a unique non-transferable access code to EITHER Ticketmaster or AXS.

"Registrants who are selected to receive a code for 'Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour' ticket sale will have the opportunity to access the sale for the specific city they registered for. Access to sales will be limited to the specific shows that are on sale on a specific day. If you are selected, please read your email carefully to see which day’s on sales you have access to.

"All registrants will receive a further email from either Ticketmaster or AXS confirming their selected/waitlist status by 23:59 Friday 14 July. Successful registrants will be selected at random to receive access codes.

"If you are not initially selected, you will be placed on the waiting list to receive a code. If you are placed on the waitlist, and any further tickets becomes available, you may be sent an email to join the sale."
