Taylor Swift fans fume at Ticketmaster as they are 'kicked out' of ticket queue

Heartbroken Taylor Swift fans say they have missed out on tickets for the star's Eras Tour after getting kicked out of the presale queue.

The first batch of tickets for Taylor's UK dates went on sale at 11am this morning, exclusively to fans who had been sent a presale access code after pre-ordering the star's latest album Midnights before its release last year.

The global superstar will be heading to the UK on the European leg of her hit tour, heading to London, Liverpool, Cardiff and Edinburgh in June and August next year.

This morning, tens of thousands of hopeful Swifties joined virtual queues to try and get their hands on the tickets, which are only being sold on Ticketmaster and AXS. Tickets for the first two dates in London and Edinburgh went on sale at 11am, with more tickets sale for other dates following later on today and over the next two days.

However, moments after tickets went on sale today, some fans complained that they had been kicked out of Ticketmaster's virtual queue as they went to purchase the tickets - only to be placed back in it behind thousands of other fans.

@selyousavedme said she got booted out and when she managed to rejoin there were nearly 38,000 people ahead of her. "I got straight through, was selecting my tickets and then it threw me out," she fumed. "Wouldn't let me back in the queue and now there's 37,976 people in front of me."

The heartbroken fan posted an image of an error message that appeared on the page, which read: "Your place in the queue is no longer valid. We apologise but an error has occurred. In just a moment you'll be automatically redirected to rejoin the queue." The message went on to say that possible reasons for the error may have been having too many browser windows open, refreshing the page or no longer being signed in.

@GavNewlandsSNP was in the same position. He posted: "That was great, got in to buy #TaylorSwift tickets for my daughter, a massive massive fan, and just as I got in, you kicked me out with an error. Now back in queue at 18000 odd, with no chance of a ticket. Super."

@ReeceCawthorn said: "Joined at 3139, waited 20 mins to be placed into sale then when being re-directed to buy tickets shows as ‘Your Place in the Queue is No Longer Valid’ and placed back into queue with 35,000+ ahead. Shocking."

The Manchester Evening News has contacted Ticketmaster for comment.
