Taylor Swift fans convinced Matt Healy confirmed romance with unexpected move

Taylor Swift fans remain unsure over her latest romantic link, but they're sure her potential new beau confirmed their dalliance on Thursday evening.

The Shake It Off songstress, 33, is rumoured to be dating another Brit in The 1975 frontman Matt Healy and fans are convinced he gave a sweet nod to his new partner during his gig in the Philippines.

Matt, 34, took to the stage in Manila and wooed the crowd throughout, but it was one quick reference that caused a huge discussion within the camps of both musicians' fan bases.

The apparent not-so-subtle nod to the rumours came as Matt belted out the tune She's American.

Quickly taking to Twitter, one shocked user wrote: "DID MATTY JUST PLAYED [sic] SHE’S AMERICAN???? IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DATING RUMORS BETWEEN HIM AND TAYLOR SWIFT????"

The strange choice of the song came just a day after news circulated about Matt and Taylor's apparent newfound romance.

The tune, which rarely makes it to the band's setlist these days, was first on an album in 2016.

Further fuelling speculation, Matt quipped: "She sure is" after the first verse of the song.

Ever since the relationship rumour was leaked, fans have been scouring the pair's social media channels to find further clues that they are indeed an item.

It led to a number of comments after an image shared by Matt's mum, Loose Women panellist Denise Welch.

The Geordie was seen to be beaming as she hugged the American singer backstage at a The 1975 gig at a sold-out O2 Arena.

Taylor split from long-term partner Joe Alwyn last month. It was said their six-year relationship had simply petered out, with the songstress now said to be "madly in love" with the Brit rocker.

Taylor and Matt's initial relationship is said to be taking place over a "lot of Face-Timing" due to their busy touring schedules, but that doesn't seem to be an issue.

A source told The Sun: "She and Matty are madly in love. It’s super-early days, but it feels right.

"They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago but timings just didn’t work out.

"Taylor and Joe actually split up back in February, so there was absolutely no crossover."

The duo are said to be "massively proud and excited" about a potential future together and Taylor is said to want to shout about their pairing from the rooftops.

"Taylor just wants to live her life, and be happy," the source added. "She’s told pals Matty is flying to Nashville over the weekend to support her on the next leg of her tour."
