Taylor Swift sent fans wild after she dropped the music video for her new single, Delicate, after winning big at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The 27-year-old can be seen letting loose as she dances barefoot on the subway and in the rain in the short film which appears to pay tribute to her British love interest Joe Alwyn.
Swift debuted the video at Sunday night’s ceremony in Los Angeles where she picked up Female Artist of the Year.
Fans were quick to speculate that the song is about the beginning of her relationship with Alwyn as she sings: “This ain’t for the best / My reputation’s never been worse, so / You must like me for me.”
She also dances in front of a sign reading “Joe’s Deli” and appears to reference Alwyn’s appearance, singing: “Oh damn, never seen that colour blue.”
Fans hailed the song as the “most romantic thing ever” as they were whipped into a frenzy by the apparent references.
Delicate was filmed over two nights in downtown Los Angeles and featured historic landmarks such as the Los Angeles Theatre and Biltmore Hotel, according to Entertainment Tonight.
The video was shot by director Joseph Khan, who previously worked with Swift on Bad Blood and Look What You Made Me Do.
Teasing the hotly anticipated video last week he told E! News: “It’s going to be unexpected and it’s going to be grand. I can’t get into too much detail. The need is love and the expression of it. And it’s not about flowers.
“People have been sending me ideas, and generally it’s like flowers or pink dresses or blue skies … I think I have a plan here to address that, but it’s completely unexpected.”
Alwyn and Swift have reportedly been dating for over a year, but news of the relationship only broke last May.
The notoriously private couple were recently pictured enjoying a scenic hike in Malibu, California.
Swift is currently gearing up to head off on her Reputation world tour which will see her joined on stage by Charlie xcx and Camila Cabello.
