Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding: Everything we know about rumored date, location and guests

Speculation surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s nuptials has reached a fever pitch ahead of the rumored wedding day.

The pop superstar and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 36, got engaged in August 2025 after two years of dating. Since then, fans have scrutinized every last detail of the highly anticipated ceremony.

While the couple has remained silent about their plans, numerous reports have suggested plausible answers for the date, location, guest list and more.

Here’s everything we know about Swift and Kelce’s wedding.

When and where is the wedding taking place?

Early this year, rumors began swirling that the couple had decided to get married over the July 4 weekend. Many have (justifiably) questioned why anyone would want to get married on the busiest weekend in America, as it marks the country’s 250th birthday this year.

But from the moment Swift announced her engagement, many fans viewed it as a plausible date for her wedding, as she has repeatedly referred to it as one of her favorite holidays.

Now, as the date approaches, reports have suggested that the wedding will take place July 3 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, the city’s world-famous arena that can hold up to 22,000 people.

Located in Midtown Manhattan above the travel hub Penn Station, Madison Square Garden has multiple entrances and exits, which could be a reason why the high-profile couple reportedly chose the venue.

Some commentators have predicted that the pair will not use the venue as a traditional arena, but erect a tent or structure inside the venue for increased privacy.

The New York Times reported that a permit was filed with New York City to close the streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2 to midday July 4 for an event on July 3, according to three sources.

Winick Productions, an event planning company that produces major high-profile events, filed an application with the city’s Street Activity Permit Office in early June, according to the report.

The company requested authorization to set up a tent or canopy outside the arena for the event, which it said would include 500 to 999 attendees. The permit also stated that trucks would need space to load and unload materials at the venue.

A week prior, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to verify reports that Swift and Kelce’s wedding was indeed taking place in his city over the Fourth of July weekend. Speaking at a press conference about safety during the World Cup, Mamdani said, “We know it coincides with July Fourth, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding, all happening at the same time, and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”

Who will be in attendance?

The New York Times reported that Swift and Kelce are planning to host a smaller gathering of 100 people at Madison Square Garden — an arena that seats up to 19,500 people — on July 2, followed by a second event at the arena for about 1,000 guests on July 3, according to two sources with knowledge of the matter.

Among the guests confirmed to attend the wedding is Swift’s longtime friend, Suki Waterhouse. Opening up about planning her own nuptials with fiancé Robert Pattinson, Waterhouse told Variety: “I’m gonna go to Taylor’s wedding, and maybe I’ll get some inspiration. It will be amazing.”

Other celebrities expected to attend include Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne, Jack Antonoff, Emma Stone, Gracie Abrams, Kansas City Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and San Francisco 49ers player George Kittle.

However, Page Six reported earlier this month that Swift’s longtime friend Keleigh Sperry and her actor husband, Miles Teller, are among those snubbed from the guest list. A source told TMZ that Sperry and the “Opalite” singer aren’t as close as they used to be, and it’s been a “sad time” for their friendship.

Who will perform?

So far, reports have suggested that Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks and country artist Tim McGraw have been chosen to perform.

Swift, who is known for giving fans “Easter egg” clues ahead of her album releases, may have provided a major hint when she wore a shirt reading “Stevie Knicks” to Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs.

The Fleetwood Mac legend has performed live with Swift before and also contributed a poem for the CD version of Swift’s 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department.

She expressed her support for Swift’s relationship with Kelce in a previous interview with Rolling Stone. “She’s in a good place right now, and I think she has a good man,” Nicks said. “I hope they fall deeper and deeper in love and ride off into the sunset.”

McGraw is also tied to Swift’s lore — her first-ever Billboard hit, released in 2006, was called “Tim McGraw.”

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show in October, Swift had a cheeky response to the host asking her when her wedding would be. “Oh, you’ll know,” the “Shake It Off” singer responded.

Norton responded: “So you’re going big,” to which Swift replied: “I just meant that I was going to invite you to it.”
