Taylor Lautner reveals we’ve all been pronouncing his name wrong

Taylor Lautner has revealed we have all been pronouncing his last name wrong.

Taylor Lautner, 31, appeared on ‘The Unplanned Podcast with Matt & Abby’ last week along with his wife who is also named Taylor. The Unplanned Podcast hosts discuss current events, share personal stories, and interview guests who bring unique perspectives to the conversation.

A video was shared to The Unplanned Podcasts 146k Instagram followers which showed a short clip of Taylor explaining that he ‘never corrected anyone for mispronouncing his name’. He began to say: “It’s my fault, nobody knows how it’s actually pronounced because I never corrected anybody for decades.”

“In interviews or anything I’ve never stopped somebody and said it’s not Lautner, it’s Lautner, I just go with whatever. I don’t care.” His wife Taylor then jokingly interjected: ”it’s like tomato, tomato” to which Taylor added: “It’s all the same thing”.

In the interview Taylor explained his surname is actually pronounced L-O-W-T-N-E-R not L-A-W-T-N-E-R.

Instagram users couldn’t believe the real pronunciation of Lautner as one person said: “WHAT. I FEEL LIED TO” while another added: “It is my fault” WHY ARE YOU SORRY WE ARE SAYING IT WRONG?!???”

Many users were also explaining how their foreign language background meant that they had always pronounced ‘Lautner’ correctly as one said: “My Hispanic accent had it right all along” while another commented: “Well, since I speak Spanish… I always said it right”.
