Arsenal Women have completed the signing of Jamaica defender Taylor Hinds.
Hinds has joined the Gunners as a free agent after her contract with Liverpool expired at the end of last month.
This will be the 26-year-old’s second spell at Arsenal after coming through their academy and making her debut with them in 2017.
Hinds left the club 18 months later to sign for Everton and she later went on to spend five seasons with Liverpool.
But the full-back is now back in north London and itching to get started after returning to the club where she began her career.
“I’m so proud to have signed for Arsenal,” said Taylor. “I want to push, compete and be winning trophies – and this club encompasses all of that. You can see what direction Arsenal is going in and everyone at the club wants to win.
“This is a full-circle moment for me and I’m grateful to come back to a place I called home when I was younger. I can’t wait to get started and to step out on the pitch at Emirates Stadium in front of all our incredible supporters.”
Hinds first signed for Arsenal when she was 11 years old and she spent seven years at the club.
The Jamaica international developed into a versatile player, capable of operating at full-back and midfield.
Hinds was a key player for Liverpool, making 131 appearances for them in five seasons and becoming their vice-captain in 2023.
“We’re delighted to welcome Taylor back to Arsenal,” said Arsenal head coach Renee Slegers.
“She’s a versatile player who has great experience from multiple seasons in the WSL with Liverpool, where she took on a leadership role.
“I’m excited to get started with Taylor on the training pitch and I’m sure our supporters will join me in welcoming Taylor back to the club.”
Arsenal’s director of women’s football Clare Wheatley added: “Everybody at Arsenal is thrilled to welcome Taylor back to the club where she spent several years at the start of her career.
“She is a player with great quality and vast experience of top level football, and will be an excellent addition to our group as we aim to compete on multiple fronts next season.”
