Taylor Decker and Frank Ragnow land on PFF’s Week 9 TOTW

The Detroit Lions lost a difficult game in Week 9 to the Oakland Raiders, but the offensive line was a big reason they were able to be competitive. In the aftermath, Pro Football Focus (PFF) has named Lions left tackle Taylor Decker and center Frank Ragnow to their Team of the Week.

Let’s take a look at PFF’s reasonings for their recognition.

Taylor Decker 78.8 overall in Week 9

“Decker allowed just three total pressures across 45 pass-blocking snaps against Oakland on Sunday,” said PFF’s Austin Gayle. “He also earned an impressive 77.6 run-blocking grade.”

Frank Ragnow 74.7 overall grade in Week 9

“Ragnow allowed just two total pressures across 45 pass-blocking snaps and earned an impressive 82.1 run-blocking grade against Oakland,” said Gayle.

Other notable Lions

Tyrell Crosby saw the field five times as a sixth offensive lineman and graded out as the Lions top player, but five snaps aren’t enough for him to qualify.

Marvin Jones was the highest-graded Lions player who qualified in PFF’s system this week, but his overall score for the week was beaten out by Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mike Evans and Carolina Panthers D.J. Moore and they were recognized on PFF’s Team of the Week.

Decker’s grade checked in at third among the Lions offensive players, then came Matthew Stafford and Kenny Golladay, followed by Ragnow.

The Lions top graded defensive player was Damon Harrison, and he just missed making the team at defensive tackle.
