A taxi driver managed to land his vehicle on top of a parked car after swerving to miss a cat.
Pictures show the cab precariously balancing on two wheels on top of the orange Jeep following the crash in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday.
Police said the motorist managed to avoid a cat that was in the middle of the road along Shakespeare Street in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, at 3.55am.
Derbyshire Police's Erewash Response Unit said the driver had avoided hitting the cat but ended up “parking on top of a Jeep”.
Alongside images of the aftermath of the collision, they wrote: "LongEaton - Early hours of this morning. Nothing on the roads.
"Taxi driver swerves to avoid hitting a cat and ends up parking on top of a Jeep. Impressive.
"No injuries. Details exchanged. #YouCantParkThereSir #NotYourAverageRTC".
Photos show both passenger side wheels of the taxi in the air with the front tyre wedged directly on top of the bonnet of the parked car.
One web user commented: “CATastrophic accident and a not so purrfect landing.”
Another added: "Surely as a professional driver trusted with people's lives the police should be referring this driver for further driver training?"
A third person wrote: "A cat, really? Something smells fishy to me."
Another social media user said: "I bet the jeep owner wasn't best pleased in the morning, imagine waking up to a car parked on top of yours."
One person added: "At least everyone was okay, the cat included."
