Taxi driver rammy outside Glasgow nightclub sees four men deliberately driven at

Police are appealing for information after a taxi driver rammy broke out outside a nightclub in Glasgow.

The cabbie deliberately drove at speed at four private car hire drivers at The Sanctuary in Partick around 2.30am on Monday July 1.

An argument broke out between the men on Dumbarton Road near to Thurso Street before the suspect left the area in his grey Citroen Picasso car heading towards the city centre.

However he appears to have returned and sped at the group, one of whom was standing on the road at the time.

They all managed to get away from the vehicles in time, but were all left shaken.

Luckily nobody was injured during the incident.

Detective Sergeant Bernadette Walls, Drumchapel CID said: “Although we have spoken to a number of people who were at the club at the time, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have been driving by – especially if they have dash cams on their car – to see if they have captured the car, which had a South Lanarkshire Council licence plate, in the area at the time of the incident.

“Thankfully no one was hurt but it could have had terrible consequences if the car had hit the men, or indeed any of the clubbers or door staff who were about at the time.

“If you saw the car incident or the initial argument take place, we would ask that you call Drumchapel CID via 101 quoting reference number 0480 of the 1 July 2019. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
