Taxi driver helps mum deliver baby on side of the N4 at Liffey Valley

A Dublin taxi driver helped a mum deliver her new baby daughter into the world on the side of a road in the capital.

The dramatic delivery happened on Thursday in the taxi on the N4 at Liffey Valley.

Taxi driver Keith Mooney called for help and was assisted over the phone by Dublin Fire Brigade before their paramedics arrived.

The fire service took to social media to congratulate mum on her new arrival.

Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Congrats to Mum & her new baby daughter after a speedy arrival in a taxi on the N4 at Liffey Valley yesterday.

"Taxi man Keith Mooney assisted Mum with the delivery with instructions over the phone from our emergency controllers before the arrival of paramedics."
