It seems safe to assume that those attending the International London Tattoo Convention this weekend have few regrets about being inked. But tattoo regret does exist, and it’s strongest among the more Conservative.

In 2015 a YouGov survey found that one in five people had tattoos, of whom 14% expressed regrets.

Those who voted Labour and Ukip in the 2015 general election were the most likely to have tattoos (21%), compared to 14% of Conservative voters and 10% of Liberal Democrats voters.

But Conservative voters were most likely to regret a tattoo, at 19%, compared to 11% of Labour voters and 10% of Ukip voters.
