Tatler's 'Britain's most powerful people' list includes a Liverpool FC player

A Liverpool player has made it on to Tatler's 'most powerful' list - but it is not the one you might think.

You could be forgiven for thinking it would be Mo Salah, but the magazine has put midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and his girlfriend Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards on the list among royalty.

The 25-year-olds come in at number nine on the social power index, according to the society magazine they illustrate the 'right mix of glamour, money, politics and intrigue'.

Together they have nearly 12 million followers on Instagram (Perrie nine million and Alex with 3.9million), where they post videos and pictures from their enviable life together.

Recently they enjoyed a luxury holiday which included a private yacht, lush villas, swanky meals and Instagram-perfect loved-up snaps.

And they are in good company, also making the list is actor Idris Elba and his wife, model Sabrina Dhowre, while The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge topped the list, the Daily Mail reports.

Jamie Redknapp also makes the list at number six. The former Liverpool player is a regular on Sky and has over one million followers on Instagram.

Tatler said of the list in its August edition: "Power is the great aphrodisiac, social power the greatest of all.

"Assemble the right mix of glamour, money, politics and intrigue, and you have all the elements of a night to remember.

"Because it's the guests that count. Guests who have power and influence. Guests who speak to the times that we live in."

Outside the top ten, but part of Tatler's 'most socially significant' are supermodel Kate Moss and her daughter Lila, 16, comedian Jack Whitehall, Sir Mick Jagger and Jeremy Clarkson.
