Tata Motors has dropped another teaser for the upcoming Sierra EV, and this one gives away a key detail. The electric SUV will get an all-wheel-drive setup, or QWD in Tata’s terminology, similar to the system seen on the Harrier EV. The reveal comes just days before the Sierra EV makes its debut on June 30. Tata’s teaser confirms that the model will be offered with front and rear electric motors, making it the second dual-motor EV in the company’s line-up.
What Tata Sierra EV's teaser shows
The latest video focuses on the AWD version of the Sierra EV.
Along with the dual-motor setup, the teaser also shows diamond-cut alloy wheels that appear to be shared with the ICE version. These are likely to be 19-inch units reserved for higher trims. The SUV also gets black cladding, a two-tone rear bumper with a silver insert, and six parking sensors.
The Sierra EV stays true to the original model’s upright and boxy stance. It carries connected LED headlamps and tail-lamps, thick B-pillars and the blacked-out rear glass treatment that nods to the 1991 Sierra. Unlike the ICE version, though, the EV gets a sealed body-coloured grille instead of a functional one.
